Wendy Dager pens a biweekly opinion column for the Ventura County Star and writes feature articles and advertorials for the Star's special sections, communities, real estate, automotive, Life, Time Out, I Do, Readers' Choice, Scoop!, and Eldercare departments. Her articles and essays have appeared in The Los Angeles Daily News, The Writer, Careers and the disAbled, I Love Cats, Hearing Loss, Byline, Antiques & Collecting, Writers Weekly, Wood Ranch News, Skin & Ink and other publications. Her how-to articles "Creating Greeting Cards" and "Writing the Opinion Article" were published in several editions of the premier writers' guide The Writers Handbook.

She has written public relations features and press releases for numerous companies, including Speedo/Authentic Fitness, American Suzuki, Vulcan/CalMat, My Yellow Pages Plus, SupportLAPD, All-Around Landscape Supply and S&S Seeds. 

Wendy is writer/editor of The Leaf-let, an award-winning environmental newsletter. She is former editor of SPAWNews, the newsletter of the Small Publishers, Artists & Writers Network, one of Writer's Digest magazine's Top 101 Sites for Writers.

Wendy and co-writer Tracie Breiter wrote the Telly Award-winning children's video "Lumberjacks," part of the Hard Hat Harry Educational Series.

Wendy's article, "Wearable Whimsy: Mid-Century Handbags" appeared in the August 2009 issue of Antiques & Collecting Magazine. Wendy's article is accompanied by photos she took of whimsical vintage purses from her personal collection, and the magazine's cover features her prized 1950s wicker elephant handbag.

Her article "Write on the Button," a how-to piece for those who wish to write humorous button and bumper sticker slogans, appeared in the July 1, 2009 edition of Writers Weekly.


"The Meaning of Mizpah," Wendy's article about the history of the biblical word "mizpah" and its current use as tattoo art, appeared in the December 2009 issue of Skin & Ink magazine, along with photos taken by Wendy.

Wendy's article "Sweater Girl" was in the June 2010 issue of Antiques & Collecting Magazine. The article is about vintage sweaters and features photos of sweaters from Wendy's extensive personal collection.

Celebrity profiles for the Ventura County Star have included notables such as the author Ray Bradbury, Pop Americana artist Nelson De La Nuez and top female tattooers Danielle Oberosler and Heather Sinn.

Funny Girl
Wendy Dager's quirky humor has appeared nationwide on greeting cards, buttons, magnets and key chains for companies such as SNAFU Designs, Plum Graphics, Kalan, Ephemera, Rockshots and West Graphics. Wendy wrote the slogan "I may be old, but I got to see all the cool bands," which was A NUMBER ONE SELLER for Ephemera.

She has written flash animation scripts, including online greeting cards and song parodies, for Greetingflix, Smilepop, Flowgo and Madblast.
